air purifier reviews homedics

Kev and I recently adopted Hephaestus, a similarly colored cat to my darling departed Avah. Heph was about six-months-old when we moved in with us, so one of the first things we did was get him fixed, and then we introduced him to the LitterRobot, which he took to like a champ. (Formerly) male cats are awesome, but the smell! This is one of those times when I wish that it was possible to scratch and sniff a computer screen. For your sake, be glad it’s not. Thankfully, Heph has never had any of those male cat issues that you hear about — he’s never peed in odd places, he doesn’t mark his territory, and he gets along famously with our Corgi, Otis. But when Heph uses his litter box, the whole house knows it. We tried changing his diet; we fed Heph soft food, soft food mixed with quality solid food, and then we gave him quality solid food only; we finally came to the conclusion that his stinky bathroom area was going to just be stinky. But we didn’t like it, and we didn’t have to accept it.

When visiting my friend Helena a few weeks ago, I mentioned Heph’s “smelly cat” issue, so she told me about a product that had done wonders with odors coming from her pet rabbit, Beau.
is air duct cleaning necessary for a condoShe highly recommended the HoMedics AirMaster, an air purifier made specifically for people with pets.
air duct cleaning somerset nj The AirMaster is billed as a “99.97% True HEPA air purifier with PetPlus™ Technology [that] is specially designed for households with pets.”
clean air testing glendora caInside the box is an approximately 27.5″ tall by 7.25″ wide by 10.5″ deep oscillating unit. It is composed of white plastic with a matte gold plastic ring just under the top section.

It’s not the most beautiful appliance you’ll have in your house, but it’s not ugly enough to be distracting, either. Of course, it’s what’s the device does that matters. The AirMaster has a triple-stage filtration system that “utilizes a pre-filter that captures hair, fur, and larger fibers.” The PetPlus filter removes “common pet odors, and is followed by the True HEPA filter, which captures and removes up to 99.97% of airborne allergens, pet dander, pollen, dust, smoke, and germs.” Setup is as easy as pulling the air purifier out of the box and standing it in the room you need it to begin working. All of the controls are on the top; there are indicators for whether the filter needs to be cleaned or replaced, a fan speed button, a sleep timer, the power button, and the fan oscillation button. It’s all very straightforward. We set the HoMedics AirMaster in our 15′ x 6′ laundry room, which opens directly to our kitchen and has our pantry on its end.

For this picture I have the air purifier facing out of the corner where we keep it (because it looks better), but when it’s running (which is pretty much 24/7 anymore), I actually have the AirMaster turned around so that its back is facing the direction of the litter box. So does it work? Oh my goodness, yes! While it is still possible to tell that Heph has done his business if you are in the vicinity right after he’s had a very important business meeting, the smell is handled so quickly by the HoMedics AirMaster air purifier that it never reaches the kitchen or anywhere else. That, my friends, is a solution that I can live with. Source: Manufacturer supplied review sample What I Like: Quick and easy setup right out of the box; immediately begins working on pet odors, allergens, dust, and other airborne detritus; Bonus, because you all were probably thinking of it anyway:This product is perfectI ordered this Homedics HEPA Professional Air Purifier in 2012 April for summer being a hay fever sufferer for a hundred pounds and I immediately started to regret that I was silly to spend so much money and even doubted that it would make my allergy problems go away.

I could not cancel the order because it had already been made. However the delivery arrived in two days as promised and I started using it immediately. I love the sound when on number one button and I covered the inner filter with an extra thin layer of "all purpose cleaning cloth" from Wilkinson to prolong cleaning the main filter hence I love DIY. I still down-played this product in my heart but then started to notice the difference in few days.I tell you nothing but the fact, it is extremely perfect and it functions just like what the manufacturer said. All my life-long stuffy nose, sneezing, watery eyes, coughing and breathing difficulties which usually woke me up in the middle of the night or at daylight mainly during summer have all disappeared. Then after two months I opened the product to checked air filter and saw that the cloth I deposited over filter was covered in loads of dust, hair strains which was not mine plus other micro-particles. No matter why my room furnitures barely had dust too.

If you keep it on day and night there would not be any dust in your room unless when switched off. It is energy efficient and would recommend anyone who wants to buy it. What a great value for money as compare with what it does. It is physically beautiful. The weaknesses are: Even though the advertisement mentioned that the product has a washable filter, it really does not have any washable filter. Instead it has a removable large filter with a warning light when filter needs to be cleaned. Over time (around 18 months) filter must be replaced for great results which can be purchased online but a bit costly. This is why I placed a thin cloth over filter to pre-filter the dust. The product also lack a good handling capacity unless with two hands. The last problem is that this product could not be reduced in its size in order to fit inside my nose to enable me brief a cleaner air whenever I go down the town to do my shopping . . .it's a bit annoying or maybe some long-term cetirizine tablets will take care of my out-door activities.

HoMedics HEPA Professional Air Purifier(NOTE: If you want to prolong the HEPA filter's life, if possible without even having to vacuum or change it for nearly a decade, you might want to adapt what I did to mine: For UK residents please go to wilkinson store and purchase an ALL PURPOSE CLOTHS,10 PACK 60CM X 30CM APPROX. WILKO EVERYDAY VALUE: THIS IS INFORMATION IS PRINTED IN BLACK COLOUR WITH A YELLOW BACK-GROUND, COSTING LESS THEN A POUND you cannot miss it and it is very thin for the filtration of air without nose. I have tried all other but this is the thinnest. Open up the plastic and remove one cleaning cloth then use a scissors to cut it into two equal parts depending on the size of your filter. Or you might want to use a whole but make sure it does not interfer with the back air flow. Open your air purifier and remove filter and lay one piece over the filter and then use a bit of clear sticky tape to hold the cloth in place but you must be mindful of the positioning by looking at the reading on the filter, replace after every two months if you use it every day.

This knowledge could be used on any filter to prolong life and save money and ensure effectiveness. This method also keeps the filter free from being vacuumed because nearly all micro particles are caught except for bacteria. This idea does not in anyway affect the over-all performance of your air purifier at all. Manufacturers make billions every year from replacement products and this is my way of fighting back and safe money, not being indebted to companies for the rest of your life simply because you bought something off them. .that's ridiculous paying nearly twenty quid after every few months to replace this filter. And unless the warning light goes off I might never vacuum mind after the next ten years.. I am sick of this financial slavery. This is another trick to regulate how long and how often to keep it running without having to physically touch the device every time you want to switch it ON or OFF because the AR10 model did not come with a factory mounted timer. Even the AR20 model which comes with a 12 hour timer is a rubbish because 12 hour timer is no good instead a 24 hour timer is great.

What I did was I bought a 24 hour timer from Wilkinson and programmed my desire settings on timer. I depressed the air purifier ON/OFF switch tilting it side-way and wedged it with a tooth-pick in order to keep it ON constantly which will allow the timer to control its function. By doing so, you could re-adjust the timer settings any time you want without touching the air purifier standby switch. To switch it OFF, simply pull it from the timer. Another good thing about this trick is, you could place the air purifier a bit further away from your bed into any corner of your room. This can totally reduce air purifier noise especially on number one, and you can watch TV in peace or have a good very low noise sleep. Air purifier could be left on to be control by timer while you are away without it having to use up electricity whole day.Good but amazing if you pimp it outQuiet, effective and well madeand looks like it will work but unfortunately has made no difference ...Works exactly as specified.

:)Best thing I've ever ever bought. XWorks well and RobustThis air cleaner works, I suffer from pollen related allergies and this filter has stop my sneezing and wheezing. I use this in the bedroom.I also have the larger unit Homedics AR-20 HEPA Filter Air Purifier for the living room both work the exactly the same just different capacities.Con:It doesn't have any handles. I could grab it by the side but I have to bend over to pick it up, and this method isn't sturdy. A built-in handle would just about make this thing 5 stars. The button lights light up the entire room as you try to sleep. There is no way to turn these lights off. White electric tape was the solution to tone it down.Pro:I have had allergies for years, I sneeze like a machine gun and my eyes get so itchy. It worked straight out of the box and the next morning. I woke up sneeze-free for the first time in years, and for every morning since then. The filters Homedics AR-1FL HEPA Replacment Filter for Homedics Ar-10 Air Purifier are relatively cheap (£20) and readily available for the past 3 years.
