airfree onix 3000 air sterilizer and purifier reviews

Airfree is a revolutionary line of high-quality air sterilizers designed to eradicate airborne microbiological contaminants like mould spores, bacteria, viruses and dust mite allergens. Manufactured in Portugal, these unique air sterilizers work best when used in conjunction with high-quality HEPA/carbon air purifiers, delivering full-spectrum air cleaning for people concerned about germs and mould, as well as for allergy, asthma, bronchitis, rhinitis and chronic sinusitis sufferers. Three different Airfree air sterilizers are available for use in varying room sizes: At the heart of every Airfree air sterilizer is its patented Thermodynamic Sterilizing System (TSS) - a ceramic core that incinerates contaminants at a temperature of 400ºF (250ºC). As the air in the ceramic core is heated and begins to rise, natural convection draws air from the room into the bottom of the Airfree unit’s 39 sterilization chambers. Since this process does not require a fan to move the air, Airfree air sterilizers are completely silent.

While in the Airfree unit's sterilization chambers, the super heated air becomes lethal to bacteria, viruses and other microorganisms, including many of those responsible for common allergies (e.g., dust mite allergens). Once the sterilized air passes out of the ceramic core, it is cooled and delivered to the room with minimal effect on the ambient room temperature. Best of all, Airfree air sterilizers require absolutely no maintenance – no moving parts, no filters, no UV bulbs, nothing to clean and nothing to replace! Airfree air sterilizers are energy efficient and chemical-free. They do not generate negative ions or other by-products, and will actually reduce harmful ozone levels in the room. In addition, all Airfree air sterilizers are equipped with a blue anti-stress night light that can be switched on/off or dimmed as desired. Airfree air sterilizers instantly incinerate bacteria, viruses and mould spores when contact is made with the heated ceramic core. Airfree air sterilizers also destroy the harmful toxins and fungus released by dust mite feces that can trigger respiratory allergies.

Depending on the size of the room, the level of contaminants present and the natural air turnover rate in the room, it can take up to 10 days to achieve 70%-90% contaminant reduction when an Airfree air sterilizer is first introduced into a room. However, once this level of cleaning is reached, the Airfree unit can maintain this on a continuous basis, as long as it is left on. Modern Alchemy Air Purifiers highly recommends using Airfree air sterilizers in conjunction with a high-quality HEPA/carbon air purifier to not only handle a broader range of contaminants, but to achieve better air circulation in the room. Airfree has an extensive database of independent test results and research that verifies the effectiveness of the P1000, Platinum 2000 and Onix 3000 for various contaminants under real working conditions. Among the leading laboratories that have tested and approved Airfree air sterilizers are: Airfree air sterilizers can be used in bedrooms, kitchens, basements, libraries, offices and baby nurseries.

Airfree units are also ideal for use in child care facilities, schools, hospitals, health clinics, laboratories, assisted living facilities, restaurants or any location where mould or airborne bacteria and viruses are an issue. Airfree air sterilizers are normally placed on the floor (hard surfaces only) or on a low-lying coffee table, end table or bedroom nightstand.

Please note that there is a break-in period of approximately 5 days during which the Airfree air sterilizer will produce an odour that some people might find unpleasant. Because of this, we recommend running the Airfree unit in a separate, well-ventilated area until this “burn-in” period is complete. In addition, we do not recommend Airfree air sterilizers for people who suffer from Multiple Chemical Sensitivities (MCS) due to their plastic components.Airfree Onix 3000 Filterless Silent Air Purifier (650 Sq. The Airfree filterless technology has been lab tested in six countries, including the US, Germany, and Sweden, with all showing the same thing - a dramatic reduction of indoor microbes and allergen in the air. The Airfree Lotus air sanitizer doesn't use UV light or ionization, so there is no ozone. The power consumption is low, but in just one week, tests show the results are real. Your indoor air will be cleaner, with fewer pathogens and allergens to irritate allergies, asthma, or cause illness.

Ideal for people with mold spore and dust mite allergies or anyone simply wanting to stay healthier and breathe cleaner indoor air. Patented Thermodynamic TSS Technology Heat to Nearly 400° F ISO Lab Tested Reduction of Mold Spores, Dust Mites, Bacteria, Viruses, and Fungi Unique, Lotus Blossom Design Chromotherapeutic Light - Choice of Color (9 Including White Light) LED Color Control Sensor No Filters to Replace - Ever Energy Efficient w/ Low Power Consumption Adjustable Brightness to Use as Night Light Airfree Lotus Air Sterilizer - A Closer Look Airfree air sanitizers use only heat to destroy microorganisms and indoor air pollutants. The advantages of this are they are virtually no maintenance. Aside from possibly vacuuming the exterior periodically, there is nothing more to do with the Lotus other than plugging it in!Cool air is drawn into the base of the unit via natural convection (warm air rises, cold air sinks). Inside the Airfree Lotus is a ceramic chamber that heats up to nearly 400°, so as air and microbes enter the chamber the heat kills nearly all pathogens, mold, and dust mites.

From here the air enters a cooling chamber, and then rises and exits out of the top of the Lotus, dissipating throughout the room. This entire process works silently but effectively to destroy microbes, all without producing any ozone or ionization. The Airfree Lotus offers you nine choices (if you include white light) when it comes to color. You can select one or set the unit to randomly select the color. Use the soft-touch color sensor on the back of the unit to set the color. Each time you touch the sensor the color will change. For random mode, select the pink color, and the Lotus will take care of the rest. To reduce the brightness of the color, specifically for use as a night light, push and keep your finger on the control button until it reaches your desired level of brightness. Air Free Lotus Air SanitizerAs the newest addition to the Airfree line of air sanitizers, the Airfree Lotus air purifier takes the tried and true microbe & mold neutralizing ability of Airfree and puts it in a newly designed and unique package.

Like other air sterilizers from Airfree, the Lotus uses only heat to destroy pathogens and allergens, but the Lotus takes the look and style to a whole new place. So what's new with Lotus, and how can it help you clean the air in your home? With our brand new test model in hand, this is what we found. What I like about the Airfree LotusWhen reviewing the Aifree Lotus air sterilizer, there were four basic points that I found to be strongest points of this model. Effective - Unlike an air purifier, with which you can sometimes see the junk you collect on the filter, you get a visible indicator that the Airfree Lotus is helping. That can be disconcerting for some, but the reality is, it's one of the very few consumer products that actually has ISO lab test results to back it up. The Airfree technology and products have literally been tested on four different continents by labs in Brazil, Sweden, and the U.S. (to name a few). All show similar results - a major reduction in the number of bacteria, viruses, mold spores, and dust mites in the indoor air.

In addition to lab test, AirFree has also had companies in relevant industries test their products. One organic food company was so impressed with the mold spore reduction, they cut their testing short and purchased Airfree units for use in both divisions of their food company. Stylish - For an appliance that has no moving parts, no filters, and makes no noise, it can be a challenge to produce something's not only effective but visually appealing. Airfree succeeded in doing just this with the Lotus. The lotus blossom design gives you the option to either open the "petals" or keep them closed. Either way, the performance of the Lotus will be the same, but the smooth, contoured look is certainly different. While I don't fully agree with the "science" behind chromotherapeutic lights, just in terms of a visual, it's a great touch. There are five colors you can set for Lotus. Overall, it adds a very modern, sleek design to a traditional favorite - the lotus blossom.Quiet - With no fan and minimal electrical components, the Air Free Lotus makes no noise.

It operates in complete silence. This is ideal for light sleepers, and other who are often kept awake by home appliances. In addition to this, the light can be adjusted. You can set the brightness you want and use the Lotus as a night light or completely turn the light off at night. Low Maintenance - It really doesn't get much easier than the Airfree technology. Because there are no filters, that means you'll save hundreds of dollars of annually compared to what it costs to maintain some air purifiers. There are are no UV lights to replace, no replacement parts whatsoever. The only maintenance there is to speak of is that you may want to dust/vacuum the exterior of the Lotus. Dust can settle or collect, particularly near the air intake (like most air purifiers), but a quick swipe with the vacuum dusting brush takes care of it. Even though the heating element in the Lotus can reach nearly 400°, the air coming out the top is warm, not necessarily hot. Because it has a cooling chamber, it takes some of the edge off the heat before the air leaves the machine.

Still, do not obstruct the airflow while you're using the Lotus. All of this means, it won't noticeably warm your room. The heat is enough to keep air circulating in a room but not enough to really impact the overall temperature. Lastly, many people ask, "What happens to the microbes or organic matter?" Remember two things - life on this planet is carbon based and that the Airfree sterilizes on the microscopic level. Most basically, it incinerates them, breaking them down into smaller, inert compounds (microscopic carbon dioxide and water), very similar to the process of oxidation does. What I don't like about the Airfree LotusThere are really only three points of contention I have with the Airfree Lotus. First, if you need something to specifically target odors or VOCs, opt for a unit with a thick carbon filter. The Lotus is not for you. If you find yourself getting sick often, I would consider the Lotus. The second point of contention is that it takes some time to work. All of the lab tests I've looked at show about one week as the amount of time for the Airfree to start driving down the amount of microbes or mold in the air.

Speaking of mold, while it does destroy mold spores, it won't get rid of actively growing mold. Just like any air purifier, if you have mold, it won't fix the source of the problem but will help manage the symptoms. The last thing is the cost. With a near identical performance to the Onix, I'd prefer it be priced the same.Just remember, if it's organic matter, things like microbes, mold spores, bacteria, viruses, fungi, dust mites, and odor causing molecules from organic matter, the Airfree Lotus can help remove it. It's not a fast process, but it is an effective one. If heavy odors, smoke, or VOCs are what you need removed, consider another model. The Airfree Lotus, in particular, is the most aesthetically pleasing of the Airfree line of sanitizers. Silent, energy efficient, and with no residual/annual costs, the Airfree Lotus air sterilizer is a simple way to improve indoor air quality and maintain a healthier home throughout the year.
