We have had multiple problems with ionizing wires burning out.I do not recommend this unit. After buying this air cleaner on Amazon and having out heating company install it, I can only say that this was a big mistake. The price is right compared to the Carrier 2420 air purifier and the cartridges cost less too although the cartridges are more trouble to assemble.

Large filters can hold 1 year of dirt before needing changing in my house. I can't speak to the effectiveness of this unit as far as its air-cleaning ability because I never got past one HUGE problem: the absurdity of its design with respect to changing... Purchased the 5000 about a year ago, the unit does a great job keeping dust down. But we (my wife and I) have been feeling exausted for some time since the installation. This is perfect for an allergy sufferer like me. Takes someone who is willing to work in order to install it. It works well, but does have some issues that I did not find in other reviews by users.Issue 1: Installing the pleated media is not very simple or easy.
