The size is just right and even at high setting, the sound that the unit makes isn’t really that annoying. Love these air purifiers. Heavy but works well and lasts a long time between filter changes. Well I bought a HM450+ in an attempt to lower any formaldehyde levels in the household air. I already own a UT338A formaldehyde detection meter and monitor the inside air. Cheap plastic fan is so badly out of balance that it sounds like it could fly apart at any minute. These things are not cheap. It should run quietly, but mine does not. I bought my Austin Air BEFORE Amazon existed since I bought my 1st in New Orleans area 15 yrs plus. Now I own 2 more indirectly; bought 1 for Mom and 1 for sister because they have... Nice unit, but it came with some screws loose. No problem to tighten with a Phillips screwdriver. Easy to set up. A bit noisy on the highest setting, but otherwise not too noisy. Using this unit in a room with two Amazon parrots. It took about 24-48 hours to really start getting results.
