It has 'silent' plus 2 more modes, nothing else to worry about. I wish there is indicator of quality of air so I could adjust the use accordingly. I was sceptical about investing in this product as it was a lot of money, but it paid off. I live in an multi-pet apartment and had allergies everyday on/off and it transformed my life. I literally can haven't had allergies since I switched this unit on. I highly recommend the unit, good quality, filters are readily available on best buy's site and barely uses any electricity. (80watts on the highest setting) Low setting: virtually quiet, good for sleeping. Medium: great for enjoying in the living room, not too noisy (I use it on this setting) High: Great for starting to clean the air in a room that it hasn't been used in (a bit noisy as the airflow is noticeable but medium setting is fine for air filtration)

Unit is light weight and easy to carry room to room. Hands down the best unit i've tried. Thank you Blueair for transforming my indoor life! We did lots of research before we made a decision. Only concern is a noise.

Reliable, quiet, efficient, nice modern design.Blueair indoor air purifiers are priced between Rs 40,000 and Rs 95,000. Eyeing the demand for air purifiers in urban cities in India, Swedish air purifier firm Blueair today launched its operations throughout the country. The company introduced four indoor air purifier models priced between Rs 40,000 and Rs 95,000. “The air quality in India, particularly in urban cities, is hazardous and there is a high risk of air pollution-related diseases. Blueair indoor air purifiers has the ability to clean the air in a room every 12 minutes,” said Vijay Kannan, Business Head, Blueair India. The entry-level 270E model, priced at Rs 40,000 is made for small rooms of 240 square-feet while the 650E version, which costs Rs 95,000, is ideal for very large rooms measuring up to 698 square-feet. The other two models cater to medium to large size rooms. “Air purifiers should be used always to get the best air quality,” said Kannan.

The air purifiers come with a Hepa filter which needs to be changed every six months when used 24 x 7. “Blueair purifiers use our patented HepaSilent filtration technology. It consumes very little power and is whisper quiet,” added Kannan. The filters are priced between Rs 4,500 and Rs 17,000, depending on the model. These air purifiers are portable and can be placed on the floor or a table. Blueair indoor air purifiers claims to remove hazardous particles such as PM2.5, chemicals, smoke and bad odour. “It can also remove deadly viruses like H1N1 which causes Swine Flu,” said Kannan. “Our products are expensive and is mostly targeted to the luxury consumer segment including schools, hospitals and offices. However, we are looking forward to launch products in the mid-range segment as well going forward,” said Kannan. The company has also announced a smartphone app which will enable it’s users to discover in real time the level of air pollution in a particular region.

While the app is already available on iOS, it will soon come on Android as well. Also, prior to the arrival of US President Barack in New Delhi to attend the 66th Indian Republic Day, the US Embassy had purchased over 1,800 indoor air purifiers from Blueair to protect employees at the embassy and other locations.
