Joining the Discount Transit Pass Program is simple. There is no minimum number of cards required* - simply order the number you need based on your demand and there is no long-term commitment required from you. All that is required is to inform employees of the program through an educational campaign and report the number of transit passes you wish to purchase via a monthly order process. MARTA Breeze passes are uploaded electronically once a month, and CCT, GRTA XPress, and GCT passes are delivered to you at no cost via courier. We have a rich history of bringing together major stakeholders to tackle difficult problems such as water. MAC has a rich history of bringing together major stakeholders to tackle difficult problems.  Over the past 15 years, MAC has helped establish the Clean Air Campaign, Metropolitan North Georgia Water Planning District and the Livable Communities Coalition. From the Clean Water Initiative in 2000, to the formation of the Metropolitan North Georgia Water Planning District, the nation’s first multi-jurisdictional water planning entity, MAC has been a driving force on the water issue. MAC was a co-lead on Gov. Perdue’s 2010 Water Contingency Planning Task Force, which was convened to address the draconian impact of Judge Magnuson’s ruling. As a direct result, Georgia passed the Water Stewardship Act of 2010 establishing metro Atlanta and Georgia as a leader in water conservation and efficiency. MAC advocated for passage of the 2011 Public Private Partnership Act for Water Infrastructure, enabling local governments to leverage public dollars with private investment for critical water supply projects.

Clean Tech In 2011, MAC convened a task force of business leaders and community partners to identify sustainability-related economic development opportunities in metro Atlanta. MAC was instrumental in the creation of the Clean Air Campaign - a public/private partnership responsible for administering federal funds to reduce traffic congestion and improve air quality. Through the Clean Air Campaign, outreach staff work with area employers to design and implement carpool, vanpool, transit passes, teleworking and other programs that not only reduce congestion and improve air quality, but also save time and promote greater productivity and boost employee morale. Quality Growth MAC’s Quality Growth Task Force was created in 2003 as a public-private venture on growth strategies to successfully accommodate the next 2.3 million people moving to metro Atlanta. Formed in 2005 to implement the task force's recommendations, the Livable Communities Coalition (LCC) worked to improve the quality of life in metropolitan Atlanta by sharing and promoting smart growth principles and policies.

In 2013, LCC became part of ULI-Atlanta and its name changed to the Livable Communities Council.Georgia Commute Options are free services that help commuters and employers. These services make it easier to switch from driving alone to one of many commute options including vanpool. In December 2012, The Walker School received official confirmation from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency that the school is now an ENERGY STAR certified facility after earning an 80% energy efficiency rating! To qualify for this important designation, data was collected regarding the school's electric, gas, and water consumption over the past several years and matched against parameters such as the school's square footage, lighting density, hours of operation, and geographic location. In addition, our Technology Department joined the ENERGY STAR Low Carbon IT Campaign by pledging to enable power management, or sleep mode, on our copiers, printers, computers, and monitors. This simple step, combined with virtualizing our servers, will further reduce our demand for electricity.

ENERGY STAR was introduced by U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in 1992 as a voluntary, market-based partnership to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through energy efficiency. Over the past 20 years, American businesses have prevented more than 1.7 billion metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions with help from ENERGY STAR. Air Polution Hits Home in Georgia The Walker School is a drop off site for Better World Books, an organization that collects, sells, donates, and/or recycles books. They accept gently used books of any type, including textbooks. They donate money to The Walker School for the books collected. Their collection bin is located in the parking lot of the upper level tennis courts. The Walker School is a proud recipient of the Community Foundation of Greater Atlanta's Grants to Green program award. Please help us to make a better world for our children by reducing, reusing, or recycling.  Recycling not only cuts down on materials and toxic substances being buried in landfills, but also lowers the need to commit more natural resources to product manufacturing.
