Field employees work long hours but get lots of world travel and experience.pany is flexible if needed, but that mostly depends on who you work for.Hard work and extra effort is noticed and rewarded most of the time.Walkable to Metra Northwest train line and downtown Palatine which has decent selection of restaurant options.As long as you're not sleeping at your desk, you won't get fired. pany has existed for over 40 years but management is in transition and current environment teems with uncertainty.Pay is on the low side of average for most positions, so negotiate a better deal early.Leadership demographic is mainly white male; "good old boys club". Advice to Management Don't be afraid to fire people who don't fit the culture and who don't perform.Raises and lack of profit sharing (bonuses) have always been an issue. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Clean Air Engineering (Palatine, IL) in May 2016. Interview The interview process was very straight forward and went very well. Multiple departments were interesting in interviewing with me for their intern position. I was surprised that I was in the interview for 3 hours long. After sharing this with several friends of mine, I learned that this is common with technical companies. I was given the opportunity to express myself while entertaining their questions as well. Interview Questions 1 Answer Negotiation I was told a range of hourly pay options that the company would be willing to offer. Then I was asked if I was comfortable with that pay range. I commented on what I thought was appropriate. The offer reflected my wishes, so I accepted the position.
