I bought a Zerowater mini replacement filter as a replacement for a Brita filter. After about 4 days, the water started tasting like "a pencil", and smelling like a pencil. The filter turned black inside. I also was experiencing an upset stomach coincidentally for a few days. I stopped using after a few days of noticing the taste/smell. I am the only one that used it. It clearly says "Brita Replacement Filter" on the box, and I needed only... I have been a loyal customer of ZeroWater for many years! The last two filters gave me a light on the tester that failed for testing water in 2 separate pitchers. I currently have 6 pitchers; 4 tested OK the same day! The life cycle in both of these filters were 3 refills and 4 refills of the ZeroWater filters! What is going on? Also I tried to replace my testing meter via Amazon. I experienced ordering issues with Amazon, that would not allow... Extremely "Fishy" Sour Taste & Smell to the water & Pitcher itself after a few weeks of use :(

Lots of particles always coming out of the Filter as well !!!!!!!!! This product has been a great part of our life. Someone is complaining about a sour taste? Quit *** in your cup! My review is the zero water 23 cup container. I've had two of these break, each after about a year of use. What happens is that in both case, the dispenser button breaks off due to the force being applied from the spring used to keep the button pressed out. I find it incredible that a company who charges so much for the filters continues to make a dispenser which is designed to fail. If you look at other companies who are in this business,... I Bought the Zero water and a Pur water pitcher at the same time. The first few weeks the water was very similar, but that quickly changed. The ZeroWater, became acidic and undrinkable after 4 weeks, while the Pur was still good. I used PH test strips and the ZeroWater was off the chart acidic while the Pur was still within normal range of the original tap water used on the PH test strips.

I Do not recommend ZeroWater for this reason. Received the 23 cup dispenser as a gift. The first filter was OK lasting almost a month until the tester no longer read 000. I cleaned the entire thing with mild dish soap and rinsed and dried thoroughly, then installed a new filter pirchased from Meijer. After a week the water tasted fishy/moldy and smelled sour like wet laundry gone bad. I cleaned again and installed new filter bought from Target. The very first water from the new filter... I keep getting this foul smelling water -like fish from the filter. Only used the filter for about a month. ....is this what I can expect each time the filter needs to br replaced. It is so embarrassing when you offer your guests a glass of water. Going back to bottled water. I just bought the filter and used it for the first time yesterday. The water has never turned to 000, the lowest it's been is 004. Today it showed me readings of 006 and 008. My in fridge pitcher filters are only lasting about 2-3 weeks of average use.
