There are warnings on the packaging and instruction sheet about using the device in a damp room as the salt filter will absorb the moisture in the air and leak, happens in around 2% of cases. You can use a hygrometer, these are on our website for $15, they tell you the RH level, we don't recommend using the device when the relative humidity in the room is greater than 75%.

A dehumidifier will remove the moisture and fix the problem.
