Allergy Pro True Hepa Filtration Air Purifier 20.8 x 19.8 x 8.9 inches #1,312,902 in Home and Kitchen (See Top 100 in Home and Kitchen) #2,598 in Home & Kitchen > Heating, Cooling & Air Quality > Air Purifiers > Parts & Accessories This is a great Air Purifier. It actually worked better after I got a different filter for it. If you were looking for a cheaper and better air filter, I was able to use the Nordic Pure, Merv 10 filter. The air flow is the same as the previous filter, but for some reason the room smelled and air felt cleaner after the new filter. It could be that I went 6 months and the air quality deteriorated with the old filter, but my wife insists that its working better than it did. Nordic Pure 12x18x1 MERV 10 Pleated AC Furnace Air Filter, Box of 6 The size you need is a 12x18x1, True size is 11.5x17.5x.75 Its important that its this size, there is an option for actual size 12x18x1 and that is incorrect.Update: This review is for the Allergy Pro 450, which is the picture displayed and name of the purifier.
I noticed someone had put its a 350 and that is incorrect. Life saver for allergy and athsma sufferers. Wish the 2 thru 4 settings weren't so loud but it makes up for the extreme blast of filtered air that you inhale. THIS IS MY THIRD ONE, SO VERY SATISFIED!!!I can breathe again at night. I bought this air purifier two years ago and only used it at the lowest setting which is pretty quiet. UV light eliminates harmful airborne viruses and destroys germs Effectively captures harmful particles and allergens on easy-to-clean stainless steel collection blades Neutralizes smoke and other unpleasant odors 1 - 4 Business Days Age 18-24 25-34 35-44 45-54 55-64 65 and older Gender Male Female This is a great air purifier for $99. In response to the comments about it rattling, being cheap plastic and smelling strange when first turned on...... I think some are being a little picky... I guess it is not a heavy duty plastic (nor does it need to be to just sit in one spot 24/7.
I can see where some may rattle because the back comes off to clean filter and when you put it back on, when turned on high, some may vibrate enough to make a rattle between the plastics - easy remedy though... we just took a small piece of clear tape and taped one side ... rattle solved. For $99 bucks and NO FILTER TO REPLACE... you can't beat it. The CADR ratings are good too. (according to my research they are as good as you will get for this size and price) As for the smell... lots of new things come with a smell... we just stuck it in our biggest room, let it run for 24 hours and then the smell was gone. Perfect things do not exist.... I'm usually pretty picky and don't spend money carelessly, but I don't expect perfection from anything and I think this is a great product. I have bad allergies and asthma. Yes () No (8)  Report Yes () No (8) I settled on this air purifier cause it beat other expensive ones for its price.. 100 bucks was on the cheaper side considering they have a 200 dollar one, so I took it home eagerly, the high setting on it quite noticabely loud, and its LED at night time if your sensitive of light, will keep you awake!
I keep it in my room, very first day of use overnight! my room is odor free and I can breathe beter with it, since I am allergic to dogs and we have 2 this thing is well worth the 100 buck price tag, and on top of that you dont need to buy filters all the time, if your looking for a air purifier that works and exceeds your standards, this is for you.. air duct cleaning suffolk nyand I would know about high standards, I am a full time mystery shopper and Chef at a restuarantbionaire air cleaner manual Yes () No (5)  Report Yes () No (5) I picked this up for $99 at my local Walmart, and I'm very happy with it. air duct cleaning san gabriel valleyIt was a bit on the expensive side, but is working great. The only downside is that it makes a loud noise when it's on high, but I just keep it on medium since it's in a small room anyway.
It helps so much with the dust from my two birds. Yes () No (1)  Report Yes () No (1) Verified purchaser I bought this for our living room and it keeps the air in the entire room fresh. We noticed the difference in air quality the first day. It also runs very quietly. Yes () No (0)  Report Yes () No (0) Verified purchaser Verified purchaser I love the quiet operation... on the medium setting I can barely tell it is running. I have a small house with 2 heavy smokers, this unit has made a huge difference in keeping the air breathable! I especially like that I don't have to keep buying replacement filters. The instructions for filter cleaning say to vacuum clean - do not use water. I haven't had the unit long enuff yet to see how well this cleans of cigarette smoke, but so far I am very pleased with this unit and the price was very affordable! Most importantly, for me, was a whisper quiet function as I have difficulty, now, sending outside sounds into the background when listening to TV or music. So, at long last 'the hunt is over.' Yes () No (6)  Report Yes () No (6) Verified purchaser I really enjoy how fresh it leaves my room feeling and how I wake up with less allergies. It wasn't quite as good out in the living room so I leave it in my bedroom. It does just fine. There is no noise in the low and medium settings but you definitely hear it in the high. Yes () No (0)  Report Yes () No (0) Verified purchaser Neighbors smoke. I don't, but unfortunately the smell leaks into my apartment. I bought this and placed it in the kitchen where the smell seems to be coming in. I have to keep it on the high setting for it to be effective and it definitely is loud, but I don't mind it. It's done a good job (owned it for two weeks), but hasn't completely gotten rid of the problem. I'm going to buy another one and place it in the living room and hopefully a combination of the two will resolve the situation.
I'll update once I know. Yes (9) No (0)  Report Yes (9) No (0) I didn't keep it long enough to comment how effective it is. It probably filters dust and lint, maybe pollen, but doesn't filter smoke, odor, and whatever else the filter is not capable of filtering. The filter doesn't look like it will last. Cleaning would be difficult. It's not true HEPA but i didn't care for that when i bought it. For me medium speed was quiet enough, high speed is too loud, slow speed is useless. It blows air like a fan, just not as strong as a dedicated fan. It emitted annoying plastic odor which i didn't like. I would not be able to make my own cheap filter or find a generic replacement. It's expensive for what it does. This "purifier" would be ok if it had a permanent washable filter which never needs replacement. Yes (1) No (0)  Report Yes (1) No (0) Am I the ONLY person that absolutely loves the "white noise" made while running on high? I guess I am the person that loves the noise of a ceiling fan, too-but hate the gust of wind coming from a ceiling fan.
This is the perfect solution. People, you can turn the UV light off. Its a clearly labeled button on the top of the unit. The complaints about this make me shake my giggle. I make bath bombs. If you don't know what those are, they consist of fine powder compressed into a mold that you drop into a bath. It involves triple sifting baking soda, citric acid and cornstarch-there is dust absolutely EVERYWHERE! I bought this system specifically for that. Almost immediately I could feel the floors didn't have that dusty layer under my feet. I usually have to run the vacuum several times a day as I make many batches of bath bombs a day. I have an epileptic cat and I don't want to have any irritants in the air. Not sure if that is a trigger for him, but it was always on my mind. This sucks the particles right in as I sift through the fine powders. Also acts as a cooling fan that isn't shooting straight down on my head from the ceiling. This is perfect for Houston! Completely silent on low and medium, but I keep it on high.
