holmes aer1 desktop air purifier review

Age 18-24 25-34 35-44 45-54 55-64 65 and older Gender Male Female When I moved into my apartment I started noticing a VERY strong cigarette smoke odor in the living room. My neighbor smokes so either it is coming somewhere through the walls or it is coming from around the front door (we share a balcony). I got this because it says it deals with smoke and the price was good. I only needed it for the living room, which isn't all that big, so the "small room" one seemed fine. I turned on the ionizer and set it on high for about an hour and by then the smell of smoke was very faint. I'm extremely happy with the results. The refills are a bit pricey, but I plan to buy the filter geared at cigarette smoke when this one needs replacing in 4 months. The purifier also has a nifty knob you can set to remind you what month you need to replace the filter, as well as a clear cap on the knob allowing you to see the filter without having to open the device. The sunlight shining through really makes the dust apparent.
air cooler cleaner wilhelmsenI imagined breathing in all that dust must not be good, and even though I dust and clean regularly, what else could I do?
airvax air purifier sgI bought this, picked a place to plug it in that isn't stuck in a corner but isn't exactly in the middle of the room either, and a day later the floating dust particles are gone.
tracs hepa air purifiers reviewsI turned on the ionizer and ran it on high. I will have to turn it off, or at least on low, at night because it sounds like a fan and I can't sleep with a fan on. Hopefully that filter will last 4-6 months. I have occasional pet dander (frequent doggy visitor) and i don't smoke, but I cook and sometimes the onion smell is hard to get rid of.

Last night I cooked up some onions and bacon, and it smells as fresh as outdoors on a spring morning! If it still works in 4 months, it deserves 5 stars. Yes (8) No (1) Report Yes (8) No (1) I am a full-time college student and I have two dogs in my household. This air purifier is perfect for my apartment! It's just the right size for my bedroom, where my dog and I spend most of our time. I've noticed that the air in my room is not stale and that there has been a huge decrease of dust and dander. I just replaced my filter yesterday and it was disgusting! The new filter was white, while the old filter was covered in gray and black! I've also noticed that when my classmates got sick, I did not. I'm not sure if the air purifier was the cause, but I'm positive it helped! This particular model is a bit loud if you turn up the intensity. I chose to have it on level 3 the first day and then turn it down to 1 afterwards. I keep the air purifier pretty much all the time since my dog spends her time in my bedroom.

Level 1 is MUCH quieter. Yes () No (2) Report Yes () No (2) Even on the lowest setting the noise is ridiculous and I'm not someone with a low tolerance for white noise/consistent background noises. I've lived next to freeways, metro trains, school fields that are mowed often and for hours at a time; these things don't phase me, but this awful machine is unbearable. Of course I've checked if there was any packaging or broken pieces causing this, and yes - the filter is secure. It's simply an inferior product that also makes very little difference in improving the air quality in a small room kept closed off (basically sealed, really) from smoking done in other rooms. I bought this machine to provide some relief from the asthma triggers outside of my room at night, so I could sleep. It has been useless and I can't afford to try a different one. To anyone considering this model because of the price; it will only save you in the amount you're wasting by buying from this company. My only consolation is that I lost about $40 rather than $100.

I was a bit skeptical. I have really bad allergies. I really like to dismiss my symptoms, but as I get older, they get worse. I have never used a air purifier before because I thought it was just another type of fan. It does make a HUGE difference. I work in an office that seems to collect tons of dust. I am allergic to dust mites big time. After about an hour, I actually feel as though I am taking in more oxygen and feel more alert. But I'm stubborn, and admitting I needed an air purifier made me feel like a big nerd. my next purchase will be a pair of broken bifocals with tape in the middle and a pocket protector:-) Oh wait, that's just a hipster now. I am getting old:-) Yes () No (9) Report Yes () No (9) I have a studio apartment, in the middle of four others. Everyone of my neighbors smokes and it bothers me as ithe smell travels the vents. Some nights I'd just leave because it was so bad. This unit has eliminated the smoke smell, I have it running rite by my furnace outlet, and hope it will help for a few years.

In one night I noticed massive changes in air quality. Yes () No (2) Report Yes () No (2) Purchased this today and noticed a huge difference within one hour. I recently moved into a new apartment and have been sneezing like crazy. This product clears up the air & all the other things floating around. I plan to sleep good tonight and purchase another one for my living room. Yes (1) No (0) Report Yes (1) No (0) I have two larger Holmes purifiers at home, I was impressed with their ability to clean the air of 3 dogs. I have irritant induced asthma, and some Allergy induced asthma, meaning anything that has a scent makes me feel like I am suffocating. I am not sure if the air filters at my office are over burdened due to construction or something, but I can feel and smell the dust, so my only option was a small quiet air filter for my cube. The air blows up, so I put it on the floor near me and on level one (which is quiet, no one noticed), and I can breath - phew. I have my own personal stream of fresh air :).
