My last 51150 purifier ran 24 hours a day, every day for years, I expect this new unit will do the same. The noise issue is bothersome. Set on low this purifier is way louder than the old one set on high, too bad. I thought about sending it back but I like the clean air. Shopping around for a quieter model was an alternative but I know this purifier works. I might find a quieter purifier that does not work as well, clean air wise.Condition: Newby Love this!While, on full performance, it is not as quiet as I'd like, it works great even on lower speeds. I live in the desert where dust & sand is ever present in the air. Got it so I don't have to dust every day, and it does a remarkable job. Very happy with my purchase, and bought one for my son as well, as he has 2 indoor dogs.

Condition: Newby Save your moneyI purchased this "air purifier" from a ebay with the thought it would clean the air in my home. After the first week of using the product I began to notice a fine black dust around the rooms I was using it in. The BLACK DUST problem became worse and as it turns out it was from the carbon(charcoal) filter in this air purifier. The unit blows (exhaust) air straight up--about like a box fan on "High" setting. It does not clean off very easy as the dust particles are so fine.We got this to replace an older purifier. what they don't tell you is that this one has a lighted dial that lights up the whole room and a high pitch noise that is hard to sleep through.
