I had seen some Honeywells that look similar in retail stores that said "permanent" filtration. I read those boxes. The filters were washable. I didn't look the model number up on the Honeywell site, because I trusted that it was a "permanent" HEPA filter. I'm not sure what the permanent in the title refers to, but these are normal, replaceable HEPA filters (the manual recommends replacing every 6 months).
