It has low, medium, and high settings. Put it on medium, and that's how it's going to run until you turn it off or change it. Put it on oscillate, and it oscillates. The noise and airflow is pretty much what you could expect from a stick fan that costs 1/3 as much at any big box store, but this has filters.After the burn-off, I can say that I did notice some reduction in pet odor, so that was nice.

If only it worked on dog breath...Anyway, as air cleaners go, I'm more used to "set it in the corner and forget it" kind of devices, and the AirGenius3 isn't that. It takes up a fair amount of space, it isn't very quiet if you set it on a useful speed, and it blows air around like a regular fan. At half the price, it would be a wonderful five-star product, but you really should expect more for what this costs.UPDATE: Just days after I wrote this review, I started noticing a strange high-pitched whine coming from the unit when it oscillated. I didn't think too much of it, but today (15 days later, and about 30 days from first un-boxing), I actually unplugged it, because the whine is now accompanied by a buzz that sounds like something's shorting out. When you use the carbon pre-filter it removes smells quickly, and remarkable well. The pre-filters extend the duration of time between cleanings of the main filter; I've yet to reached the point where I need to clean the main filter. The fan blows air well enough to keep refreshed air circulated throughout the room quietly. The accent lights are a nice touch too.
