Sure, you find a proper filter once in awhile that costs a ridiculous amount of money or you can order them if you have the time but I always feel like air filters are more trouble than what they are worth.

Then, I stumbled across the Honeywell HFD-120-Q Tower Air Purifier with a permanent filter. I didn't even think twice about paying $149.99 for it, if I didn't have to buy replacement filters this thing would more than pay for itself. I somewhat set myself up for disappointment driving home with it. I thought perhaps I was too excited about it and that it would not work up to my expectations but I was completely wrong. I absolutely love this air purifier. First, it looks fabulous in my living room. It says it cleans a medium-sized room but my room is quite large and it does a fine job. I have it placed in a high traffic area where the dogs come running through after being outside and shake their hair and dander and it seems just to eat it right up. I literally no longer have that embarrassing cloud of floating particles that you generally see when the sun shines through the window. I do vacuum my house everyday because of the animals but this air purifier has brought clean to a whole new level in my living room and I don't have to dust nearly as often.

This air purifier is just under 29 inches tall and weighs 13 pounds. It oscillates, has an ionizer and the fan has three speeds. It is extremely quiet on all three levels and when ran on high, it doubles as a fan, except that it is blowing clean air around. The best feature on this is the permanent washable filter. The electronic filter check feature tells you when it's time to clean it and I usually just take it out and soak it for a bit and then go rinse it off. I was extremely happy when I was asked to use the Honeywell QuietClean® Tower Air Purifier in our home. We have had air purifiers in our home over the years (some better than others), but when we moved last summer we didn’t bring ours with us. It was pretty old and we decided it was time for it to retire…like us. Of course, that left us without an air purifier in our new home, so the timing was perfect when we received our Honeywell Air Purifier. Honeywell has been around forever, and it is a name I know and trust, so it is especially exciting to have this purifier.

The Honeywell Air Purifier is both, which pleases me to no end. It just plugs into the wall and with the touch of the “on” button, it starts to clean the air. There are three speeds to choose from, but at any speed, it is seriously quiet (SO much quieter than any air purifier we have had in the past!).  I love that it covers a large area, as our home is really big. A study was conducted recently, to compile a list of the top 10 most common American household VOCs (which stands for volatile organic compounds). The study was done by the maker of Honeywell Air Purifiers and a team of environmental health scientists. They also found that many of these VOCs have toxicities that can lead to headaches eye, nose & throat irritation.

They also put together a checklist to help consumers determine (and hopefully reduce) which products in their home might be toxic. Dirty air is drawn into the purifier by a powerful, ultra quiet fan where it then passes through a pre-filter trapping larger particles and finally through the high performance filter that captures the microscopic particles. The permanent filters are easily rinsed clean in water, saving money on replacement filters. An optional, replaceable odor and VOC reducing pre-filter is also included giving the user the choice of added cleaning and freshening. An electronic filter clean indicator reminds the user when it is time to clean or replace the filters.
