What killed this was the price and availability of filters. I was sorry I ordered this Junk. Didn't do the job as advertised. Husband has no complaints with this. It works really well. I built a small shelf right above our kitty litter box and placed the purifier on the shelf. It's located in the store room of our home office. I have had this for several years. Still works great just very noisyon high. Had to get it for my daughter and it helped her a lot. had this for a very long time! worth every penny, light air scenting, great filtration, quiet on medium fan!

We bought this to run in our bedroom; unfortunately it constantly smelled like something was burning. The upper setting on the fans cannot be used because the machine buzzes it is so loud. They are very effective. They do make some noise, but only at the same level as a tabletop fan. Personally, I don't mind this because it gives me some white noise to help me fall asleep at night, and I can both hear and feel the air that the unit moves, which tells me that is is very effective.I especially like the design of the machine, because it draws in air from the front face, and blows the purified air out of the top at an angle.

Because it only needs the front and the top to move air, this means you can place the unit against a wall or in a corner without effecting airflow, since it was never pulling any air from behind.I just called Hunter today, and verified the correct model #'s for replacement filters for the unit. Technically, you only have to replace the Eco-Silver carbon prefilter (about every 3-4 months, depending on use) and the HEPAtech filter is meant to be permanent (only needs to be occasionally vacuumed to maintaiWe have an open floor plan house but I turn this on and it clears out any bad odors in no time. It moves the air around so almost acts like a fan. I also have one in my "closet" which is an entire room. Just makes everything smell fresher. These air purifiers significantly reduce cooking and kitty odors, as well as dust!! I breathe better and wake up much less congested. Filters are easy to clean with a vacuum attachment. extra filters are a bonus, but won't be needed for quite some time by the looks of things so far.
