I only know the unit is working by feeling a slight breeze against my cheek when placed a couple inches from the unit. I rated this unit with 4 stars instead of 5 only to reserve a star for long-term use and ease of maintenance. Over time, I'm convinced this unit will earn it's 5th star. I plan to get a second unit for my bedroom and expect to sleep much better!

I'm a smoker and wanted something to knock the odor down in my room where I smoke. This has done a great job in keeping my room air much clearer. I have also noticed that I have very little dust as compared to before I started using it. It worked great at collecting the dust and germs from the air. I really started waking up in the morning feeling better. After cleaning it about three times it started to make a serious static sound when put back together. No matter what I tried it still made it. I felt it had a fault in it somewhere. So I called the 800 # and really had no help. now I am out a machine that works which costs was not cheap.. When it worked it worked great for the short time i had it.
