Then went back to it still sitting on the table and decided to try it again but the "results" were the same, so i decided to (return) it back to Walmart! You don't realize the issue of having a dependable purifier until yours goes down the rabbit hole.
Price wise, I really didn't want to spend a great deal of money, since my apartment is only 800 sq.ft. (Yeah, I KNOW small spaces). I looked online and found this Honeywell, and decided to give it a go, since last summer, in triple digit California heat, I'd purchased two Honeywell brand tower fans, and was delighted they were so well made, this purifier surely would be the same. From the moment I set it up, which requires very little effort, and turned it on, I was impressed. It now runs 24/7, without a hitch. It's very quiet, even on high speed. The ionizer is a blessing, too. I'd not only recommend this to a friend, I would absolutely tell them how pleased I am with this product. I received it super fast, as well, in only two days, standard shipping. I'm sticking with Honeywell products now, and of course, the great prices at walmart. For the money, this product is well worth it. I'm totally satisfied with Honeywell AND walmart. It has helped with my allergies dramatically and the air in my bedroom smells better (we have a roommate that smokes in the house and a dog and a cat.) I no longer wake up with a stuffy, congested nose and decreased sinus pain due to the fresher air. I am glad to say it does a good job; I can smell the cigarette a little, but am not experiencing any ill effects from the smoke. I'm satisfied with this Honeywell Air Purifier. Yes () No (2)  Report Yes () No (2) Ordered 2 of these, for living room and bed room. Had a easy time opening up the front and removing plastic wrap from inside. sat one on the dresser , turned it on and walked away. Sat the other one up in the living room, where he smokes. It dose clean the air, really . Leave the house , return and the house dose not smell like anything, just clean. it dose make noise, not just the fan. It has a whine I can hear. The foam filter in the front is washable, the HEPA filter needs replaced when the light comes on . So I will keep the washable filter cleaned wkly and extend the life of the HEPA. Even with the whine, this air purifier dose it's job and I would buy this again. Yes () No (1)  Report Yes () No (1) Verified purchaser I have always had an air purifier in my home.
I especially enjoy this one, because I can clean the filter and reuse it. It also has the ionizer on it for optional use! I have always purchased Honeywell and Holmes products, but find this one is my favorite by far! Yes (1) No (0)  Report Yes (1) No (0) Verified purchaser Verified purchaser I used this product years ago for allergies. When I developed asthma, due to a man that smokes at the other end of the house, I ordered this again. Within an hour the air smelled cleaner and I no longer could smell smoke. In the past I have used more expensive models, but this works the best and it is the cheapest. Best buy for the money! I also got one for my grand daughter who was allergic to mold spores and it really helped her. It was placed in her bedroom. I was expecting bigger machines (I ordered two) and was skeptical if they would work or not.
I'm staying in a 900 sq ft area and these machines do their job! I've had them for almost a week and they have been on the whole time, day and night and I havnt had a problem with them and the grungy smell is gone!! Replacement PRE-Filters for Honeywell Air Purifiers Within the last few years, Kaz, Inc., which owns the Honeywell air purifier brand, has undergone consolidation under a series of owners. "Honeywell" air cleaners have around $400 million in sales worldwide, a top-selling brand. Two results of this popularity are: 1.) Genuine Honeywell Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) replacement filters are widely available, and 2.) a brisk aftermarket flourishes, with knockoff-generic filters sometimes represented as "Honeywell." Kaz once used a numbering scheme (i.e. "38002"), for hundreds of different replacement filters, which was easily preempted by aftermarket vendors. Amidst an industry downturn, Honeywells were switched to a modular filter plan which standardized nomenclature and packaging,
and reduced the total number of different filters sold. This also made the counterfeits, which still sell well, easier for shoppers to spot. Most genuine Honeywell OEM filters now feature distinctive red/white packaging and the prefix "HRF-" in the model number. Generics save money, but can have wider variations in quality and multiple revolving-door vendors, than genuine OEM replacements. But, in my opinion, the quality of genuine Honeywell OEM filters and pre-filters has been slipping of late, narrowing the gap with the uppermost Prefilters are a fat cash cow, and Kaz and generic vendors are making the most of the opportunity. offers lower prices, and wider selection including generic alternatives, but also features many third party vendors. HRF-AP1 / Filter (A) HRF-AP1 is Honeywell's "Universal" Carbon Air Purifier Replacement Pre-Filter, this replaces old pre-filter numbers 38002, 32002, 33002, 34002 and 35002. Also called "Filter Type A."
HRF-AP1 is a 15.75 by 45.5 inch cut-to-fit carbon-impregnated prefilter sheet for many Honeywell purifiers. , where this prefilter is a top seller, average 4 stars. These sheet materials can also be used for almost any brand air purifier with filter bay less than 15.75 inches wide.
