Shell has been a pioneer in liquefied natural gas (LNG) for more than 50 years. In Arzew, Algeria, the first commercial LNG liquefaction plant was delivered in 1964 with Shell involvement, and we shipped the first commercial cargo from Algeria to the UK in the same year, starting today’s global trade. We have continued to innovate and improve the technology behind LNG, and to find ways to make more LNG available where it is needed around the world. For example, we are building Prelude FLNG, the world’s largest floating LNG production facility, which will unlock gas resources from underwater fields too uneconomic or challenging to reach from land. What is LNG and how can we use it? LNG is a clear, colourless and non-toxic liquid which forms when natural gas is cooled to -162ºC (-260ºF). The cooling process shrinks the volume of the gas 600 times, making it easier and safer to store and ship. In its liquid state, LNG will not ignite.  When LNG reaches its destination, it is turned back into a gas at regasification plants.

It is then piped to homes, businesses and industries where it is burnt for heat or to generate electricity. Artinya kalau tiba-tiba ada yang sakit, akan saya pantau dulu kondisinya dan akan dibawa ke dokter untuk berkonsultasi perawatan apa yang harus dilakukan. Hal yang sama juga saya terapkan saat Vino lahir. Salah satu dokter pernah menyarankan agar saya menjaga kualitas udara di dalam rumah dan khususnya di dalam kamar. Polusi udara dalam ruangan ini biasanya disebabkan oleh bahan kimia yang ada pada furnitur, bau masakan, atau bahkan dari tubuh manusia sendiri. Kami lalu memutuskan untuk memasang alat penyaring udara (air purifier) dan pelembap udara (air humidifier) dari Duux. Kedua alat ini memiliki kegunaan dan cara kerja masing-masing, sehingga keberadaannya di rumah akan saling melengkapi untuk meningkatkan kualitas udara dalam rumah. Pelembap udara atau air humidifier adalah alat untuk menyemprotkan uap air ke udara agar bisa mengikat bakteri dan virus serta menyeimbangkan kelembapan pada ruangan yang udaranya kering atau ruangan ber-AC. Saya memasang air humidifier di kamar tidur yang ber-AC. Karena air humidifier bisa digunakan dengan fungsi aromaterapi juga, saya pakaikan aromaterapi dengan wangi mentol yang segar. Ternyata selain mencegah risiko kulit kering, air humidifier ini sangat membantu melegakan pernapasan saat Vino flu. Sementara itu saya juga memasang penyaring udara (air purifier) yang bekerja dengan cara mengisap udara sekitar dan menyalurkan kembali udara yang lebih bersih dan aman. Di dalam air purifier ini terdapat filter yang bisa menangkap virus, bakteri, dan partikel buruk di udara.

Selain air humidifiernya, air purifier duux juga bisa menggunakan aromaterapi. Bedanya kalau air humidifier diteteskan ke wadah air, kalau yang ini diteteskan ke sponge. Saya memasang satu air humidifier di setiap kamar dan dua air purifier di ruang keluarga tempat anak-anak bermain dan beraktivitas bersama, karena memang pada dasarnya kapasitas Duux diperuntukkan untuk ruangan sebesar kamar tidur (kira-kira 25 m2). Dengan begitu, saya juga dapat menggunakan aromaterapi yang wanginya berbeda-beda sesuai dengan selera. Ternyata memang terlihat bedanya setelah pemasangan air purifier dan air humidifier ini. Saya jadi jarang bersin-bersin yang selama ini saya kira karena alergi. Udara di dalam rumah jadi lebih segar, dan yang paling penting, anak-anak jadi jarang terserang flu.
