IT'S A HOME, NOT A HOTELWhen you stay in an Airbnb, you're staying in someone's private home, not a hotel. My intent is not to convert my home into a hotel; it's to invite travelers to share my home. So please behave as though you're staying in the home of a friend. Tell me about yourself before requesting a booking, so I know who I'm inviting into my home. It PAYS to read my house rules: there are DISCOUNTS buried in them!BOOKING CONFIRMATIONAfter you book, Airbnb will email you a Booking Confirmation/Itinerary with the House Guide. This is an important tool that you'll be thankful to have. It includes the address, directions, parking details, host contact info, house rules, wi-fi password, restaurant recommendations, and other important and helpful info. One thing: if you don't print this and bring it with you, don't blame me for any problems you have finding the house, my phone number, your breakfast foods, the wi-fi, etc. CLEAN AND GREEN: Our rooms are professionally cleaned and aired out, and all the bedding laundered between guests, every time.
The shared areas of the house are professionally cleaned 2-3 times each week. Each guest cleans up after themselves immediately after meals and in the common areas, and keeps their own guest room tidy during their stay (i.e. there's no private maid service). We provide green living supports (recycling, composting, chemical-free bath products, etc.). Cleaning and bath products are chemical-free and unscented (Homemade, Seventh Generation, and Dr. Bronners), so you'll smell only the fresh air. All furnishings are natural materials (no particle board or other off-gassing materials). Bedding is cotton, wool, and down, unless you request synthetic because of down or wool allergies. The upstairs (where all of the bedrooms are located) is pet-free (for the sake of allergy-sufferers). Two cats live with me in my separate, downstairs suite and sometimes venture into the kitchen & dining room areas of the house, which have hardwood floors, and are, therefore, easy to clean. There's a HEPA air filter in the kitchen to trap any kitty dander, and we sweep daily and mop weekly.
