The packaging seemed refurbished or returned when we received it so this could have some reason on why the fan s*** out on me within the year. This fan works awesome. It blows cold and I love that it has a remote control. At night, I fluctuate between hold and cold and this really helps. Gave as a Christmas gift to my parents who, as most old folks do, keep their house at an unreasonable temperature for non-old people to tolerate! It's loud- but that's what I love about it.
