this is on a 1988 883 sportster with screaming eagle 40mm cv carb and 2inch drag straight pipes. this problem was easily fixed by switching to k&n E3120 filter and now it runs fine. it's just a headache buying stuff, testing it, and then finding out you have to buy something else again to make it work. Any other air cleaner I found was 3, 4, and 5 times more expensive. The bracket mounted right up with my CV carb no issues. Be aware though as stated before that this only comes with a screw to mount the cover to the bracket...Does not come with carb mounting screws. I bought some 1/4-20 at 3/4" length for my CV carb. No big deal still way cheaper than other cleaners. Shipping from lowbrow was awesome! Had it in 2-3 days from ordering. Ordered from some big name companies the same day and got my Lowbrow items days before the others.

The bike is not getting enough air due to the filter. There is a K&N I was told to buy but I am skeptical it is a surface area issue.
