This and the actual spongebob pineapple Penn Plax Spongebob's Pineapple Home Ornament were the perfect addition to our tank and when they were listed as "add-on" specials I was quick to hit add to cart. HALF the price of what we saw at Walmart, Target, Petco, and Petsmart which had a much smaller selection than Amazon (typical problem with brick and mortars).Disappointed in this purchase|air purifier 12746 See and discover other items: betta fish accessoriesgerm guardian plug in air purifier model gg 1000 Age 18-24 25-34 35-44 45-54 55-64 65 and older Gender Male Female Verified purchaser HEAVY cast iron (not for backpacking) great for the chef in the house. sharp plasmacluster kc-860e reviewTake care of this monster and it will last for generations.
For the best cooking, easy cleanup, season cast iron with Flax oil. /33ckwqm How to clean cast iron without ruining your oil seasoned coating, see attached video Yes (6) No (0)  Report Yes (6) No (0) Verified purchaser This skillet is what I wanted for frying chicken on the burner and subsequently baking it in the oven. I did take a grinder and round off the sharp edges on the handles. The skillet is black and I don't have to worry about baked on grease stains on the exterior like I do with my 12-inch stainless steel skillet. It IS heavy and it requires some muscle to move it from stove top to the oven. It cleans up like a charm after scraping out the grease and loose fond (I use a silicone scraper). I just add water and heat and it comes clean without detergent. By the way- it holds five chicken leg quarters and the grease and fond should be can be returned one at a time to make excellent gravy. 1)brown the grease and flour 2) add water, fond (chicken drippings), and constant stirring.
Oh, and don't forget to apply a little cooking oil to the interior when done using. Yes (7) No (0)  Report Yes (7) No (0) Great peice of cookware. The only down fall it that its so big that the middle gets hotter then the outside of the pan, making cooking slightly uneven. Moving the food around will correct this issue. Now, just the other day I made a "Chicago" style pizza in the oven useing this pan. The pizza came out great! The crust was evenly cooked all the way around. The pan is very heavy, but hey its cast Iron, what dou expect? Durable, solid, and worth it. Cooks good on the stove, and great in the oven! Only suggestion: Purchase a splash screen to place on top, also sold at Wal-Mart Yes () No (2)  Report Yes () No (2) Verified purchaser Have not used it yet ,but glad it has small 2 nd grasp handle as it will take two hands to move this around with food in it. Great size for big family meal. I wanted it to acquire a complete set of Lodge cast iron due to excellent durability and reputation and because it continued to be made in USA !
Yes (0) No (0)  Report Yes (0) No (0) Verified purchaser I have used Lodge products in the past, and the quality of this new skillet is excellant. The pre-seasoning is a big plus, and it works. No re-seasoning was necessary. With proper care, it will last for generations. Yes () No (0)  Report Yes () No (0) Cast Iron cooking is wonderful, once you realize the simple care and maintenance of its surface. This 13 1/4" size is perfect for dinner. That extra +1" more than the usual 12" makes a big difference. Don't think I would have the strength to lift the 15", although it may come in handy in war zones! Yes (6) No (0)  Report Yes (6) No (0) I grew up with cast iron pans. From what I remember, they made the best of everything. However, I haven't used one in years and I have no excuse for this. I decided to purchase my first pan because I wanted to make the tastiest fried chicken and I knew cast iron was the best. Well all I can say is this is the best purchase ever!
My fried chicken was awesome! Lots of room in this pan. I highly recommend cast iron for all cooking! Yes () No (1)  Report Yes () No (1) Verified purchaser This skillet is huge! It is already seasoned and ready to go. You may need two burners as it covers one and a half burners on the stove. I like the helper handle on the other side and would invest in more of this line. You can easily fry an entire chicken at one time in this pan. I have made casseroles in it as well. Easy to clean up and I store it in my oven when not in use. All --- I repeat ----ALL have work warped. I live in the real world many people in the house use the pans. Nobody knows how it happens it just happens everytime. This pan is wonderful it will never warp.....nothing sticks to it..... it has a huge base that fits my stove and on medium it cooks everything perfectly fried chicken has never ever finish so well.
