How to Troubleshoot an Ionic Breeze GP The Sharper Image introduced its Ionic Breeze Germicidal Protection (GP) air purifier in 2002. Designed to kill mold, viruses and airborne bacteria 24 hours each day, without replacement filters and with less energy, the Ionic Breeze GP operates silently. Troubleshooting your Ionic Breeze will help you get the most benefits from your purifier and keep it running efficiently. Clean your Ionic Breeze purifier completely if you see the cleaning indicator light turn red. The red indicator means your purifier contains an excess of dirt and has shut down. Clean your purifier collection grid thoroughly if your purifier makes noise while operating. Wash the grid using warm soapy water, rinse well, and then let the grid stand for 24 hours until dry before placing it back into the purifier. Blow out dust from the ionizing wires using compressed air. Clean your Ionic Breeze GP if you see the cleaning indicator light with an amber color. Clean by removing the collection grid and wiping each of the three collection bars using a damp cloth, sponge or paper towel.
Pull the collection grid up from the top of the purifier. Let the collection grid dry thoroughly before reattaching it. Keep your Ionic Breeze GP purifier clean at least every two weeks. Check to see if you forgot to return the collection grid to your purifier if you find the purifier will not operate. Your Ionic Breeze purifier will not function without the collection grid in place or if you remove the germicidal lamp cover. Consult with your doctor before using the Ionic Breeze GP if you have breathing problems, lung disease, asthma or heart disease. Your purifier has the acceptable ozone level, complying with U.S. government standards. Stay at least one foot away from your Ionic Breeze purifier when you have the lamp on if you will be exposed to the purifier over an hour each day. Your purifier produces invisible ultraviolet (UV) light. Do not stare into the UV lamp to avoid eye sight damage and possible blindness. Place your purifier in a location where children cannot stare into the lamp.
Never allow your fingers to touch the glass of the germicidal lamp --- the oil from your fingers reduces its germicidal performance. Handle the lamp only in the metal section. If you purchased your Ionic Breeze GP before 2007, know that The Sharper Image settled a class-acting lawsuit in 2007 for claims about the ineffectiveness of the Ionic Breeze air purifiers and that the ozone levels produced may be at unhealthy levels.hunter air purifier 30191 HighBeam Research: Article: Sharper Image Introduces New Ionic Breeze GP Silent Air Purifier with Ultraviolet Germicidal Protectionargos air purifier 3m Ionic Breeze: The Sharper Image Ionic Breeze GP S1730 Instructionskenmore 295 hepa air purifier Los Angeles Times: Sharper Image Settles Lawsuit Over Air Devices
