Have been using it for two weeks, so I have not had a chance to check on the filter yet, but it is easy to access. Extremely quiet on low. Doing exactly what we needed. Dust level has significantly decreased. Would not power on. Called technical help at Winix and they diagnosed problem as a bad system board.Large volume of air cleaned.

This is my second one. The filters are super easy to install. It runs quiet on most settings. Turbo is kinda loud but expected. The Filter works perfectly. The items were delivered on time. I would recommend Overstock to friends. "how much are the replacement filters and how often do they need to be changed" $** dollars I found. One hepa filter lasts 1 year. Then in the front of that is a carbon filter. 1 carbon filter lasts 4 months. So for ** dollars you get 3 carbon filters and 1 hepa filter. Should last 1 year with normal use "can you clean the filter by washing it?"Unfortunately filters for WAC5300 cannot be washed, it should be replaced by new filters if those get dirty.
