I myself have particularly bad asthma and allergies (making me all the more geeky and respectful), and have owned both small portable and larger air purifiers in the past. Most made use of slow vacuums that passed air through a charcoal filter. The KCA60JW is absolutely massive compared to more portable units, giving the instant impression that this air purifier knows how to do business. This last option is a fantastic way of freshening up a room and jump-starting the whole air purifying – the KCA60JW creates positive and negative ions that bond to airborne proteins and break them down. It also reduces static electrivity, causing dust. Pollen, bacteria and other odours to drop from the air, where it can be cycled through the air purifier’s filters. Having tried out the Sharp KCAJ60W for the past few weeks, we can honestly say it’s the best air purifier we’ve ever used. Each mode does exactly what it says it does, and our office has never been more dust, odour, and allergen free. The KCAJ60W eliminates dust and odours quickly and efficiently, and gives the office a new-found sense of cleanliness.

We wanted to spend less and find something that took up less room while keeping the low noise qualities of the Rabbit Air. This filter succeeds with the low noise levels, a lower price, unfortunately is only slightly smaller but has the added benefit that the front lights can be switched off while the unit still operates. The Rabbit Air has a very bright front panel that lights up a room in the middle of the night. We would cover it with paper or cloth. This Sharp is very sensitive and changes the air speed more often than the Rabbit Air ever did in the same room. If waking up without teary eyes in the morning is the test, both do equally well. The Rabbit Air now lives in the living room. We can recommend this over the Rabbit Air for apartment dwellers.
