It probably should have. I noticed a lot of dust and pollen on the front of the air cleaner, which shouldn't have happened if it catches everything it says it does. I also used some incense to see if it would catch that. It didn't catch any of it. I'm hoping (for the sake of Honeywell's reputation) they sent me a defective product.It does pull a lot out of the air, but the very fine particles. We did notice that we weren't sneezing as much as before. We still had some days where we had major allergies though. We didn't notice a whole lot more particles getting vacuumed up either. We kept it in a 200 square foot room. The only other thing in the room that would make it worse for the air cleaner is our cat. We aren't allergic to the cat though. We noticed when the pollen count was high for trees, that my wife's allergies got really bad regardless of how the air cleaner was working or where it was in the room.I'm not too thrilled with this air cleaner. I would be more thrilled if the electronic filters caught a lot more than they did.

The particles seem to go right through those filters. The only one that worked good was the spongy filter. Those don't catch much though. I'm tempted to possibly return it if I can. It didn't have a red light like it said it would but it just looked plain nasty. I took off the filters and found that there was dust inside it caught on the grills that are located after the IFD filters. From what the rep said to me, it sounds like the ionic filter or the IFD filters are so strong that they pull it in from the front.

I find this very hard to believe with the air flow coming out of it. Additionally, the dust would have to navigate through the fan blades (while they are moving) to get to where the dust was. My wife's allergies have been bad the last week or so. Running this air purifier hasn't done squat to help her out. The only part of this cleaning the air is the spongy pre-filter.
