Is the ionizing feature an ionizer or an ozon generator? ionizers generally will create ozone, I would avoid using it, I make sure its always off. How much ozone it makes i'm not sure, but any amount is not good, especially if it is in a room long term making ever so steadily small amounts, you get where i'm going with this. sat one on the dresser , turned it on and walked away. Sat the other one up in the living room, where he smokes. It dose clean the air, really . Leave the house , return and the house dose not smell like anything, just clean. it dose make noise, not just the fan. It has a whine I can hear. The foam filter in the front is washable, the HEPA filter needs replaced when the light comes on . So I will keep the washable filter cleaned wkly and extend the life of the HEPA.
