My son's pediatrician recommended this brand of air purifier and I can see why. It's light to lift despite it's size. It is programmable with an easy to read control panel. The filter was very easy to install and the machine tells you when you need to replace the filter - no second guessing. I have been extremely happy with the purifier. We have noticed that my son and I have had significantly less flare-ups with our allergies and asthma since we have had the purifier. Most people say that you can't tell when your air purifier is working. Those people don't have bad allergies and asthma! Not long after I turned this air cleaner on, I was breathing much easier. It handles air in an average-sized bedroom well. It is a bit loud and takes some time to get used to, but overall it is worth it for the super purifying it is doing. Helps with my allergies Ever since I got the Honeywell air purifier (17005), i no longer wake up in the morning with a runny nose. It's a bit loud but you'll quickly adapt to it. I bought the 17005 a week ago and I couldn't be happier! I've been using smaller "hepa type" purifiers as main units, but the Honeywell 17005 blows them away as a main unit. Plus I will save $100 + plus yearly on filter cost, as the 17005 has a permanent true filter.A little bit loud but gets the job done. It's nice for the summer because it does blow out cold air. I leave it far from ne during the winter because I can't stand having the cold air blow at me. but other than that, the product works great! Bought this as a Christmas gift for my son and his asthma. Has really really helped him from day 1! He loves the programmable feature too!

Honeywell 17005 Air Purifier I purchased a Honeywell 17005 QuietCare to help with my daughter. She was starting college, and she needed an air purifier that would help with her allergy symptoms. I must say that this machine performs very well for the price and was very easy to carry into her dorm room. Whenever she comes home or goes on a trip, she takes it with her and keeps it running. I believe it has helped her get through the first year at college without so many days of having a runny nose and itchy eyes. What I like about the Honeywell 17005 With true HEPA filtration it is very effective against allergy symptoms for such an inexpensive machine. It's lightweight and easily portable with the built-in handle for carrying. It has a remote, a timer function, and a filter life monitor. What I do not like about the Honeywell 17005 It doesn't remove as many contaminants as some of the more expensive units. It contains a carbon pre-filter rather than a full carbon canister, so while it does offer some filtration of odors and smoke, it is not as effective as larger, more expensive air purifiers.
