When it arrived, it was simply in a shrink wrapped molded plastic display package that absolutely is not a container the kit could be kept in. The product may have the contents as shown, but certainly does not have the hinged box for storage, which is probably what many people want because the cleaning kit is not used that often and there are small cleaning pieces which can easily be lost. I am not a person who provides negative ratings, but this kit is not as advertised or shown in the picture. I knew this from the start after reading reviews, so no surprises here! The kit is ideal and complete for cleaning my 9mm buddy. I have searched online and in stores, if you can find a complete kit like this for less than $7 bucks please let me know. First thing I did is ditch the packaging and placed the kit in a small cardboard box after use, the kit includes everything you need to satisfy your gun cleaning endeavors.

I am picky about my firearms and the cleaning of such, I am satisfied with this purchase. If you price the items contained in this kit individually you will see that this is a true value! Just wanted to mention that you can't see the patches in the kit while viewing the online photos, they are there under the cardboard insert in the packaging. It was a single, very thin, plastic tray with a, just as thin, clear plastic molded sheet that snapped onto the tray in four places. I will be replacing this packaging with one of my own. The aluminum rod & handle does not break down for smaller packaging, which is a disappointment. The tips are all of a very flimsy plastic material, but will due for now. There are plenty of cleaning/oiling pads in the kit. For a starter I would call it "OK", but I will be replacing this very soon. The cleaner and oil are the best materials in this kit. They are from Hoppe's and are of their anticipated quality.
